The chronotope of Mahur Beste, Sahnenin Dışındakiler and Huzur novels of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar

At this postgraduate thesis with the name of "The Chronotope of Mahur Beste, Sahnenin Dısındakiler and Huzur Novels of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar" the samples were detected about time-location association by examining Tanpınar's novels Mahur Beste, Sahnenin Dışındakiler and Huzur with the accompany of chronotope Notion which was created by the Russian literature theoretician Mihail Bakhtin. Firstly at the entrance section of the thesis, the necessary informations are given about the notion of novel and its historical development. Then, Bakhtin and informations about his notion of chronotope took part at the first section. Appearance of the notion and the types of chronotope which were dealed by Bahktin was transferred. The usage of chronotope notion which is encountered at the Tanpınar's novels that was stated before was dealed at the second section. The classifications which was made by Bakhtin such as road-comparison, guest room-saloon, castle, provincial town, threshold and besides these the chronotope of Istanbul which was become a common factor took place at this section. Finally at the result section, at the Tanpınar's fiction of novel, place of location and its importance with it gains with the time and thus the values of emotion which are transferred to the readers were detected. The provision of chronotope notion at the literal works will enable Tanpınar's novels to be understood easily. Key words: Tanpınar, Novel, Chronotope
