Culture and basic vocabulary in Ahıska language

Objective of our thesis is to detect vocabulary of Meskhetian Turks who had troubles throughout history and therefore to define their identities as a social group.In ?Introduction? part of our study; we discussed resistances of Meskhetian Turks against Armenian, Georgian and Russians between 1828-1944. We examined population distribution of Meskhetian Turks in Middle Asia and Russia after 1944. We researched lexical meaning of ?Meskhetia? name and geographical position of Meskhetia by benefiting from historical context.By this study; we exhibited lives of Meskhetian Turks in their own homelands, their exiles, their living there by adaptation to new lands and maintaining their own cultures and their languages by them against other cultures without lose until today.Key Words:1.Meskhetian Turks2.History3.Culture4.Vocabulary5.Lexicon
