Examination of the conceptions of belongi̇ng and estrangement in specific to ceramic art

The concepts of belonging and alienation are concepts that have shown themselves up to the present day with the existence of humanity. Belonging and alienation, which is the result of sociological and psychological conditions, is a human need as a result of the relationship with the environment in the life process established with the home and society in which people are born. Belonging; It is the feeling of connecting and relating to people, objects, society and the environment. Estrangement; It is the state of returning to one's own inner world by becoming indifferent to the object, environment, society and social values. Many thinkers in human and social sciences, philosophy, sociology, psychology and literature have handled and interpreted the concepts of belonging and alienation in different ways. In today's life, phenomena such as belonging and alienation to society, individual, language, object, environment, cultural life, political situations and oneself have become concepts that are used differently. Belonging and alienation are among the important topics discussed in research carried out in the fields of psychology, social psychology and sociology. These concepts, which are fundamentally interconnected, have been studied separately by important theorists in the fields of psychology, social psychology and sociology. The concept of belonging is handled with the existence of human beings, while alienation is handled with the Industrial Revolution and modernization. Although alienation was handled with the Industrial Revolution, the struggle for survival with the existence of humanity, the desire to survive under the influence of external factors and the desire to exist continuously with the development of societies revealed the concept of alienation. Although the phenomena of belonging and alienation cover almost all areas of social life, in the light of their reflections in different fields and the problems they bring, they are discussed by examining their reflections and works on thinkers, today's researchers, art, ceramic art and artists.
