Evaluation of the competences of primary care physicians and their views on the medical education program

Purpose: The purpose of this study; It is the taking of the competencies of family physicians about some diseases that are common in primary care and their opinions about the medical education program they have received about these diseases. Method: This research is a sectional descriptive study. Working group; It consists of 170 family physicians working in Samsun and its districts at the time of the study. difficulties of access to all family physicians or to create a sample that represents them in Turkey and the reason is not intended to represent all of the family physician. The research was carried out on a group of family physicians with the Convenient Sample method and it was aimed to obtain the clues that would form the basis for analytical research on the subject. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 23.0 program was used to evaluate the data obtained in the study. Results: The data about clinical / disease situations in the UÇEP-2014 that included at least four or more codes of learning were collected by a questionnaire. In this context, their opinions about Asthma, Depression, Essential Hypertension, Drug Side Effects, Stroke, Heart Failure, Cognitive Disorder (Dementia, Delirium), Chronic Kidney Failure Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Migraine. More than half of the participants stated that they were satisfied with the trainings given in the medical faculties on the subjects related to the basic diseases determined. The frequency of encounters in the healthcare institution where cognitive disorder (dementia, delirium) disease, stroke and chronic kidney failure are studied is very low. In addition, they frequently encounter Asthma, Depression, Essential Hypertension, Drug Side Effects, Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Migraine. Conclusion: Participants at the Faculty of Medicine; Depression Essential Hypertension, Drug Side Effects, Stroke, Heart Failure, Cognitive Disorder (Dementia, Delirium), Chronic Kidney Failure Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Migraine, are quite satisfied with their education.
