A research on the expectations and difficulties of preparing a successor in family businesses and taking over the management

Family businesses are important dynamic economic/sociocultural order plays an important role creating employment. When this situation is taken into account important requirement family businesses continue their activities uninterruptedly after they are established. Ensuring continuity will possible with transfer healthy management between generations family businesses. Determination expectations/difficulties of predecessor/successor in family businesses during transfer management seems effective in revealing healthy management transfer. However, perceptions successor/predecessor actors transfer from1st generation/2nd generation expectations difficulties successor/predecessor actors transfer 2nd generation/3rd generation during transfer management family businesses which is critical stage in ensuring continuity family businesses national academic literature. It seen that necessary importance hasn't been given determination perceptions people about subject revealing possible differences between mentioned generation groups examining possible differences if by comparing them with each other. There are few studies in literature determine expectations/difficulties predecessor/successor in transfer of management and seems studies focused only one actor (predecessor/successor). Based on gap in literature within scope study it is aimed determine expectations/difficulties of predecessor/successor actors during the transfer management in family businesses/compare expectations/difficulties between 1st/2nd generation/2nd/3rd generation groups. In line with purpose study aims determine perceptions successor/predecessor actors transfer 1st generation/2nd generation/perceptions successor/predecessor actors in transfer 2nd generation/3rd generation regarding expectations/difficulties between specified generations. It has been designed qualitative research enables reveal possible differences/describe similarities/differences in way they can compared with each other. In scope study interview technique was adopted obtaining data. Easy sampling technique was adopted determining participants to interviewed. In context was included ISO 500 list published 2021/ISO second 500 list published in 2020/predecessors/successors family business owned TAIDER were included in sample. Directed content analysis was used in data analysis As a result of research has been seen perceptions predecessor/successor actors regarding expectations/difficulties process transfer process family business management differ greatly literature. 21 expectations/difficulties determined researcher result literature review were directed participants. Out of 21 expectations/difficulties determined researcher result literature review only seven (7) (predecessor's respectful attitude/understanding towards successor the predecessor's intention transfer successor's being equipped) had results consistent literature/14 the other hand (pressure created by expectation successor display patient attitude towards predecessor) different results from literature reached. The analyzes made has been factors such as level of institutionalization enterprises the execution of works/transactions within written rules/a certain plan level of relationship between predecessor/successor have effect expectations/difficulties predecessor/successor actors.
