Institutionalization in family companies: A research on family companies in Kırklareli

In this study, the relationship between institutionalization level criteria such as annual turnover, type of ownership or number of owners, legal status, number of employees and duration of activity of family enterprises registered in Kırklareli Chamber of Industry were examined. Hypothesis has been formed by correlating the annual turnover of the enterprise and the type of ownership, in other words, the number of owners, legal status, number of employees and duration of the activity. In order to test these hypotheses, the family businesses in Kırklareli province were discussed. One of the quantitative research methods, questionnaire method and questioning technique were preferred. In the universe of 600 enterprises, it was decided to conduct research on a total of 140 enterprises. 12 questionnaires, which were invalid, were excluded from this study. Therefore, the number of valid surveys was determined as 128. In this research, the data were analyzed through SPSS 24.0 Package Program. In addition to the descriptive comparative analyzes and reliability analyzes, exploratory factor analysis was performed on the scale used and the values were interpreted. One-way ANOVA test was also used. According to the results of the analysis, the annual turnover of the enterprise, the type of ownership of the enterprise changes, the number of owners, the duration of the activity, the number of employees and the yearly financial balance of the enterprise increases and their legal status changes.
