Abstract (EN)

Premarital education helps to build strong marriages. All over the world, premarital education is used in various ways to prepare couples for marriage. Although pre-marriage trainings differ from each other in terms of content, duration, scope and application, they basically aim to prepare individuals at the stage of marriage for the institution of marriage and to establish this institution on solid foundations. In this study, the effect of premarital education programs implemented in Turkey on marital adjustment is examined. In our study, where 28 people who received the education, lecturer and the formatter were interviewed using the qualitative research method, the trigulation method was used to evaluate the outcome of the education in a multi-dimensional way, As a result of the study, it was concluded that pre-marital education given by the Ministry of Family and Social Services in Turkey had a positive effect on marital adjustment, but it was not at the desired level and needed to be improved. Various suggestions have been made to improve the training.
