Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the reasons why the relations between Türkiye and the United States (US) went from strategic partnership to strategic decoupling during the Justice and Development Party (Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi-AK Party) period. In the thesis, the purpose of the study is to examine the reasons for the transformation of bilateral relations from strategic partnership to opposition on various issues during the AK Party government period. The findings obtained in the thesis show that regional and global developments, as well as domestic political developments in both countries, are the main factors that negatively affect the development of bilateral relations. Based on this, it is suggested in the thesis that bilateral relations will take a negative course if both regional and global developments and domestic political developments in the US and Türkiye continue.
