The Effect of academical contradiction on the motivation of the students in geography classes

Abstract (EN)

Methods of education are the most effective, appropriate and the shortest ways to apply in order to get to success. The aim of this research is to be determined whether traditional methods of teaching or the method of academic contradiction that is one of the methods of collective teaching is more effective on teaching of geography. The content of the research consist of the students who attend 9/A and 9/B classes in Çubuk Secondary School for the training of Islamic religious personel. Through the aim of the research, the comments of veries gathered through the first and last tests and the surveys which were prepared and carried out aiming at problems of whose answers were looking for, were made. In the research, it was seen that students were bored and had difficulties to get motivation in the coarses which were applied being devoted to traditional methods. On the other hand, it was seen that interest and attendance in coarses which were applied with the method of academic contradiction, were higher than the other method. Though it was a little, it was clearly seen that after the first test, the difference in the degree of success which was in favour of the control group changed in favour of the group of experiment after the last test. Being devated to the results that came out after the research, the advices which the researcher suggested take place.
