Today information is the most valuable asset for institutions and organizations and for this fact, the importance of uncovering the implicit information has raised and studies about this subject have gained speed. In the first two parts of this study a literature study has been made and concepts of data, data systems and information systems are studied in details. In the following two parts, data systems at Afyon Kocatepe University have been studied and their contribution to the information management and effects of explicit and implicit information on databases has been investigated. Innovations on information management have been investigated by collecting data systems which work independently and unaware of other systems under a unified system. The concepts of a model have been defined by taking the necessary steps to unify the data systems under a single structure.
