Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the relationship between digital burnout, synergistic climate, and work engagement according to academicians and to reveal whether this relationship is significantly changed by demographic variables. The study group consists of 480 academicians working in the Marmara Region in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the study, "Digital Burnout Scale", "Synergistic Climate Scale" and "Utrecht Work Engagement Scale" were used for the data collection process. In the data analysis, structural equation modeling, bootstrapping technique, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, descriptive statistics, and Pearson correlation analysis were used. According to results of the study, academicians' digital burnout and synergistic climate levels were moderate, and work engagement levels were high. A moderate negative relationship was found between digital burnout and work engagement. A low negative relationship was found between digital burnout and synergistic climate. A moderate positive relationship was found between work engagement and synergistic climate. When controlled for demographic variables, there were significant differences in digital burnout and work engagement according to gender and academic title. However, there was no significant difference in synergistic climate according to gender and academic title. Lastly, it was observed that the influence of work engagement on digital burnout is partially mediated through synergistic climate.
