The role of psychological capital in the relationship between calling and job satisfaction levels of academicians

Abstract (EN)

This study questions whether there is a mediating effect of psychological capital in the relationship between the presence of calling and the search for calling and job satisfaction. The sample of the research; It consists of 148 academicians working in state and foundation universities, whose departments are business administration and departments are management and organization. Survey method and written questioning technique were used to obtain the research data. Research findings show that the presence of calling is positively and significantly related to job satisfaction and psychological capital, while the search for calling is negatively and significantly related to job satisfaction and psychological capital. It has been found that psychological capital is positively and significantly related to job satisfaction. The mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between the presence of calling and the search for calling with job satisfaction was questioned. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis, it has been determined that psychological capital has a full mediating effect in the relationship between the presence of calling and job satisfaction, and the partial mediation effect of psychological capital in the relationship between the search for calling and job satisfaction.
