Akarçay Mound coarse ware of Hellenistic Period

Middle East Technical Universitiy's TAÇDAM between 1990 and 1993 within the scope of the Project to rescue the cultural heritage to be buried under the water of Ilısu and Karkamış Dams. The priliminary studies of Akarçay Höyük were initiated in the rescue excavations were caried out up until 2006. In the current thesis, ceramic finds of Akarçay Mound, Hellenistic Period and also few dating back to the Roman Period wereevaluated in ters of typology and paste characteristics. As a result of the drawings, photographs, catalogs and statistic, studies caried out on on 151 finds, the wares of Maound and contemporary settlements were compared and similarities and differences between southeastern Anatolia and Mesopotamian ceramic finds were tried to be revealed.
