Abstract (EN)

This thesis focuses on the use of multi-criteria decision making processes in fuel station site selection. Fuel stations are facilities where large quantities of flammable and explosive materials are stored and therefore it is critical to have the right safety measures in place. Factors such as proper placement of storage tanks, effective design to prevent leaks and regular maintenance play an important role in reducing hazards. In addition, safety equipment and procedures used at fuel stations to reduce the risks of fire and explosion are also examined. These include fire extinguishing systems, emergency evacuation plans and staff training programs. The thesis also addresses the potential impacts of accidents that can occur at fuel stations. The importance of preventive measures is emphasized by assessing the potential impact on human health and safety as well as environmental pollution. As a result, this thesis identifies the measures and potential risks that need to be taken to improve the safety of fuel storage processes at fuel stations. In the risk assessment phase, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), which is the criteria weighting method of multi-criteria decision making methods, was used and SuperDecision program was used. This information provides an important contribution to the development and implementation of fuel sector safety standards.
