Özet (EN)

Water contamination in diesel fuel tanks poses significant operational and economic challenges across automotive, marine, and industrial sectors. The presence of water, whether from condensation, leaks, or fuel hygroscopicity, leads to microbial growth, corrosion, and engine damage. Microbial contamination, facilitated by bacteria and fungi, produces biofilms that clog filters and degrade fuel quality. Additionally, sulfur compounds in diesel react with water to form corrosive sulfuric acid, accelerating tank degradation, while water droplets in high-pressure fuel systems cause injectors. Traditional detection methods, such as visual inspections, chemical test strips, and capacitive sensors, have proven inadequate for real-time, accurate monitoring. The limitations of conventional methods have spurred interest in Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) radar as a robust alternative. FMCW radar operates by transmitting a linear frequency-modulated chirp and analyzing the reflected signal to determine the distance of the diesel level contaminants. Recent advancements in FMCW technology have focused on improving signal processing to handle real-world complexities. The challenge to be addressed by this study is to implement an accurate 2-level liquid detection (detection the level of both the diesel and the below contaminations contained in water)
