Abstract (EN)

In this study, which is located in Akçadağ district of Malatya Province and examined under the title of "Akçadağ Rock Tomb Rooms", 25 rock tombs in Akçadağ District and its neighborhoods were identified. The rock tombs in question have largely lost their original integrity due to the destruction of the time, illicit diggings and landfill. Despite these negativities, they provide information about the ancient burial traditions of the region from rock tombs since they preserved their original architectural features. Among the Malatya province and its districts, Akçadağ attracts attention as the region where the rock tomb chambers are the busiest together with Arapkir district. These rock burial chambers are one-room and show a great similarity to the rock tombs in the region dating back to the Roman period with their arcosolium and kline structures. Therefore, this burial tradition, which is found intensely within the borders of Akçadağ District, can be seen as a proof that this place was a settlement in the Roman period. Key Words: Malatya, Akçadağ, Rock tomb, Bağköy, Aktepe
