Özet (EN)

Ventilator is a machine that perfoms artificial respiration to person whose respiration has been disturbed. The process of that is called as ventilation. The scientists have made many studies to improve features of this device. At nineties, controlling of this device was implemented with classical control, in recent years, controlling of that has been implemented with artificial intelligence techniques.In this thesis, electrical models of lung were obtained firstly and then simulation of ventilation has been implemented with helping of these models. 3 different lung models were obtained. Resistance and capacity being used widely in literature were used to model lung. Simulation of patient?s ventilation was done by combining the obtained models and respiration device model. The change occuring in patient were investigated with helping of chancing lung dynamics values, R and C. At system, fuzzy logic was used as a controller.The main purpose of this thesis is to achieve design of an intelligent respiration device based on fuzzy logic by obtaining electrical model of the lung. At device, closed loop control structure that use instantaneous value of patient was developed. With this aim, firstly, the system was implemented in hardware and then the program thar provides to operate the system as desired was written. 8 rats experiments were done to test performance of device by taking upon the approval of Animal Experimental Ethics Committee of Firat University. The targeted successful criterias were obtained from experiments.
