Abstract (EN)

Education indicators have always had an important place in examining the changes in the educational status of societies over the years. Investigation of the effects of the policies implemented by the decision makers on education on education indicators is a topic that remains up-to-date. In the study, the schooling rate for 5 age part of preschool education is choosen as the dependent variable. And the independent variables are choosen as, population, literacy rate, 25-49 age female unemployment rate, number of public library users, number of classrooms and under-5 age mortality rate. The Mediterranean region cities are units and the years between 2012-2019 is the time period of this study. The panel data models with both time and unit effects are estimated. Based on these models, the differences depending on time and unit are examined. In the study, it has been shown that regression models with panel data, which are generally used for economics, can also be used in the educational studies and in this way, it is aimed for this study, to create an academic contribution to the educational researches.
