Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the item and test statistics of Akdeniz University 2019 Foreign Student Selection Exam (YÖS), to perform distractor analyzes and to examine whether the obtained scores differ between different language groups. The research was modelled by the survey research, one of the quantitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of 5383 people from various countries. In the first phase of the study, YÖS (2019) was examined within the framework of item analyzes used. Investigations were made on whether the difficulty and discrimination values of the items meet the criteria determined in the literature, how they are distributed, and how the items are reliable. In the second stage of the study, test statistics of YÖS (2019) were investigated. It was aimed to determine the quality of the exam by comparing the relevant statistics with the criteria determined in the literature. In the next stage of the study, distractors were analyzed for the items and the working and non-working distractors were determined and recommendations were presented. At the last stage of the study, YÖS scores were compared in terms of the groups of the language variable that the individuals took the exam. At the end of the study, it was found that the item and test statistics of the YÖS (2019) exam is generally a reliable test with sufficient values for an achievement test, and the mean scores obtained from the exam differ according to the language conducted. Finally, suggestions were put forth about items that do not have the required specifications. Keywords: Achievement Test, Item Analysis, Foreign Student Selection Exam, Distractor Analysis
