Abstract (EN)

Musa Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, also known as The Fisherman of Halicarnussus (Turkish: Halikarnas Balıkçısı), was a writer of several novels and essays. He also became famous for drawing attention to the Mediterranean coasts of Turkey by his concept Blue Voyage (Turkish: Mavi Yolculuk). In this study, his essays which are published together with his corpus by Bilgi publishing (Turkish; Bilgi yayınevi) are analyzed as a main document in terms of aging theme. The research is created in accordance with the qualitative research method. The research data is analyzed by considering document/text analysis technique. The ten books which are analyzed among his works are; Merhaba Anadolu, Düşün Yazıları, Anadolu'nun Sesi, Altıncı Kıta Akdeniz, İmbat Serinliği, Sonsuzluk Sessiz Büyür, Anadolu Efsaneleri, Anadolu Tanrıları, Hey Koca Yurt, Arşipel. This thesis is an original study in terms of examining Balıkçı's essays within the scope of aging and age studies. In addition, the concept of light person has been encountered in Balıkçı's essays. In this regard, light person is also emphasized in this thesis study. As a result, this study offers a reading focused on elder, aging and aging studies.
