Akkirmanî Ali Efendi (Ö.1028/1619)'s fatwas related to marriage and divorce

This thesis includes translation and examination of the fetwas about marriage and divorce in Akkirmani Ali Efendi's work "Fetâvâ Akkirmanî" with an overwiev of Ali Efendi's bioghraphy, his other works, the direction of his fiqh and the time when he lived in the Ottoman Empire during the 16-17th century. In the first part of the study political and social information about the Ottoman Empire in the time between the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century was given. Then the life, works and the direction of the author Ali Efendi were discussed and information about the existing copies were given. In the second part, the translation of the "marriage" and "divorce" sections of Fetâvâ Akkirmanî were presented.
