Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of mind and intelligence games on the early mathematics skills of 60-72 month old children. For this purpose, the experimental model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. Among the experimental models, a single-group pretest-posttest experimental design was preferred. The study group of the research consists of a total of 14 children, 7 girls and 7 boys, studying in a pre-school education class in a kindergarten affiliated with a science and art center in a rural area in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. The data of the research were obtained using the general information form, Early Mathematics Ability Test-3 and Mind and Intelligence Games Program. The data of the research was collected in the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. The data collection process started after obtaining the necessary permissions. The data obtained in the analysis of the data was analyzed using quantitative research data techniques. As a result of the research, it was determined that the effect of the mind and intelligence games program on the mathematical skills of all children participating in the study was statistically significant. It was determined that the post-test mean scores in mathematics skills of all children participating in the study were higher than the pre-test mean scores, and that mind and intelligence games increased the mathematical skills of all students. Finally, when the pre- and post-test scores of mathematics skills were compared according to the gender of the children in the study, no statistically significant difference was determined.
