The Smart Grid, regarded as the next generation power grid, uses two-way flows of electricity and information to create a sophisticated and automated energy delivery network. A key power generation paradigm enabled by Smart Grid will be the distributed generation. Distributed generation takes advantage of dense integration of intermittent renewable energy sources based on solar and wind energy. Hence, there is need for the load flow analyses that consider the variability and fluctuations of discrete renewable sources. These analyses will be useful for management and planning of the power systems containing distributed renewable energy generation. In this thesis work we mention about the latest developments in Smart Grid and then conduct 24-hours load flow analyses for power system containing intermittent renewable sources and loads. These sources and loads are modeled by hourly generation profiles. For this analyses, a algorithm which modified Newton-Raphson method used in test system. IEEE-39 bus test system commonly used in the literature is used to execute these methods. In these analysis bus voltage, power factor and line losses changes in buses are evaluated for a day.It was found that bus voltages did not alter considerably; however, as increasing volume of distributed renewable generation, power factors could decrease. Increasing the power of renewable energy resources, system active power losses spent on the transmission line increase.
