Özet (EN)

ABSTRACTActivated carbons are carbonaceous materials with highly developed internal surface area andporosity that can be applied in both gas and liquid phase applications. In recent years, avariety of conventional granular activated carbons and ion exchange resins have been used inwater treatment and to treat a wide range of domestic and industrial effluents containingorganic and inorganic pollutants. In this study, commercial activated carbon and polymeric adsorbents have been used for theremoval of fenol from aqueous solution by adsorption. Also activated carbon was prepared byactivating KOH and ZnCl2 activation has been used to remove fenol from aqueous solution. The effects of the pH and initial adsorbent concentration are investigated. The effect of the fenol adsorption capasity were investigated in an agitated batch reactor andthe Langmuir ve Freundlich adsorption isotherms were developed. Keywords: Adsorption, Activated carbon, Removal of fenol, Polimeric adsorban
