Repair, technical and application examples of carpet and plain textiles in Aksaray Sultanhan

This study consist of three sections under the main title of " Repair, Technical and Application Examples of Carpet and Plain Textiles in Aksaray Sultanhanı Case" which have been shaped in consideration of information obtained. Thestudy has been investi gatedunder three titles which are: Thehistory of thecarpet-rugrepair in the Sultanhanı District of Aksaray Province, Techniques Used in Carpet Repair and Rugs, Techniques Used in Rugs, Light Rugs, Zili, Soumak Textile. Support thesis work; 7 workshops (Karlıer Carpet, Sultansaray Carpet, Veis Yumuşak Carpet Repair Workshop, Efe Carpet Workshop, Şanlı Kardeşler Workshop, Ergin Çekim Workshop, Aydın Carpet Workshop), which is active between 10-18 March 2018 field work was done and 33 repair masters were interviewed. In this study, the repair works of hand weaving carpet sandplain weavings, which were made in Sultanahanı district of Aksaray province, were examined. For this purpose, the Sultanhanı district was introduced, then in formation about how there pair workstarted in this town which is one of the most important means of living source of there gion was given and the terms of repair and restoration havebeen defined. Inaddition, carpet and plain weavesapplied in the district of there pair process, use dequipmentan draw material sareintroduced by giving in formation about techniques and suppored by the photograps. Eachone of therugs is a work of art, which is woven with intense effort and care whic hreflectourpast and culture, is a part of our everyday life and has been used for a period of time in itsproduction, with itsrichcolor, patternand structure. Art-worthy carpe sandplain-weaving rugs need to be protected in properconditions and, if necessary, repaired in orderto be able to continue their existence in the future.
