Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, activated carbon was produced from waste rubber by chemical activation. Then, magnetic active carbon-zinc oxide (MAK/ZnO) nanocomposites were obtained by single step thermal method. Characterization of the obtained 5 different nanocomposites was performed with BET, SEM and XRD. Finally, the removal of the malachite green (MY) dyestuff of MAK/ZnO nanocomposites from the dark, visible and UV light aqueous solution was investigated. In addition, kinetic studies were performed in the laboratory. According to experimental results; The MAK/ZnO 5 composite has been found to have the highest removal under 1 hour dark (79.17%), visible (91.85%) and UV (91.02%). In the kinetic studies, it was found that it complies with the first order rate constant in five nanocomposites. In the balance studies, adsorption capacities of MAK/ZnO nanocomposites were determined by applying to Langmuir and Freundlich models. The maximum adsorption capacity calculated by applying Langmuir model was found to be MAK/ZnO 3 with 502.5 mg/g. As a result, when MAK/ZnO nanocomposites were visible, UV light and equilibrium times in dark environment were examined, it was determined that it had a synergistic effect with both physical adsorption and photocatalytic event.
