Abstract (EN)
Comparison of Entrepreneurial Tendencies of Youth People Who People Who Do and Do Not Active Sports:The Example of Adana Province The habit of engaging in active sports during school and adolescence plays a mediating role in the development of physiological, psycho-social, and personality traits. Findings from scientific studies support this idea. Participation in sports activities serves as a means of socialization and, particularly at a young age, creates an environment conducive to the development of an entrepreneurial personality. Based on this assumption, this study aims to compare the entrepreneurial tendencies of high school students who actively participate in sports with those who do not. It aims to compare the entrepreneurship tendencies of young people by determining their demographic information. This thesis is designed as a quantitative study using a comparative survey model. The study population consists of 11th-grade high school students in Adana who are either licensed athletes participating in school sports or non-athletes. From the total population of 8,080 students in these high schools, a sample of 1,189 students was selected using an appropriate sampling method. The data for this study were collected using a personal information form and "Entrepreneurial Personality Traits Questionnaire," originally developed by Koh (1996) and adapted into Turkish by Bozkurt (2006), was utilized. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 26 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Before the analysis, outliers were examined, and it was confirmed that the dataset followed a normal distribution. Accordingly, parametric analyses were conducted. In this study, frequency (f) and percentage (%) values were used for demographic distributions, while differences between groups were analyzed using the independent samples t-test. The findings of the study indicate that students who participate in sports demonstrate significantly higher entrepreneurial personality traits in five sub-dimensions compared to those who do not. As a result, it can be concluded that young people who are engaged in licensed sports tend to have entrepreneurial personality traits. The findings obtained in this study can provide valuable insights into the fields of entrepreneurship and sports.
