Akut olarak peyniraltı suyu proteini ve vitamin c?nin birlikte alımının erkek öğrencilerdeki kan parametrelerine etkileri

Whey protein is a rich source of biologically active molecules that are able to influence a range of physiological functions in the organism. Whey protein has the ability to act as an antioxidant, antihypertensive, antitumor, antiviral, antibacterial, hypolipidemic and immune modulating agent.On the other hand, vitamin C is a highly effective antioxidant which protects the body against oxidative stress. It protects the immune system by stimulating the activity of antibody and immune system cells such as neutrophils.This study aimed to investigate the acute effects of whey protein and vitamin C combination on the hemodynamics of the male students. Forty healthy volunteers were participated and this study was carried out as double blind and randomized. The volunteers were randomly assigned to one of four groups (n=10 for each group). The first group was the control or the placebo group (CG). The second group was treated with the whey protein (WPG)(30 g). The third group was treated with the vitamin C (VCG) (1000 mg). The fourth group was treated with the combination of vitamin Cand whey protein (WCG). The blood samples were obtained prior to supplementation (pre-treatment) and after 75 minutes of ingestion of the related supplementation (post-treatment). Hematological data was obtained and the pH of blood were determined.As a result; no difference between the groups were observed. In the group treated with whey protein and vitamin C (WCG), the number of granulocytes was significantly higher in the post- treatment than the pre-treatment. The pH of blood did not vary between the groups according to the statistical evaluation (*p>0.05).
