Abstract (EN)
The beach which is located along North - South direction in Akyaka in Muğla in the East direction of Gökova Bay is changing under the effects of coastal structures, wind, current and waves. Coastal structures significantly affect the natural sediment transport balance and cause erosion in the area. Longshore and offshore sediment transport lead to shoreline changes. In this study, wind induced circulation is modelled and longshore sediment transport along Akyaka beach considering the effects of coastal structures is examined with the help of GENESIS (GENEralized Model for SImulating Shoreline Change) numerical model.
