Abstract (EN)

In this study, the physical, human and economic characteristics of the Akyazı town of Erzincan, located in the Upper Euphrates section of the Eastern Anatolia Region, were researched adhering to the principles of geography. Akyazı is geographically a town settlement. It was converted from the village before 1995 to the state of the province after 1995. It is approximately 4 km far from Erzincan city center. The main aim of the study is revealing the physical, human and economic characteristics of the town of Akyazı and to identify the problems related to these properties and present solutions. Trip-observation method was used in this research. The town of Akyazı is a settlement that established in Erzincan Plain, where the terrestrial climate is dominant, and agriculture and livestock activities are done intensely. Agriculture and animal husbandry should be supported for the development of the research area. Consciousness-raising activities for earthquake should be done.
