Alain de Botton and criticism of modernism

Alain De Botton is a thinker who tries to understand edited by modernism today's world. He wants attention to the problems of the people in the modern world. After identifying the problem suggests solutions. This source of the solutions is philosophers, artists, and these are the studies of wise people. His remarkable feature is traditional solutions for the troubles of modern world. Alain De Botton has Western style philosophy of education but he uses the East origin approach. In particular, issues related to belief systems put the emphasis on ancient artifacts. A person to take part in the modern world faced state "status anxiety" is called. According to Alain De Botton, the person of this state of anxiety is rushed up by society mercilessly. People in the values of social life, they have achieved status are forced to put up with. This situation has been the eighteenth century to the present within the framework of modernism. Reason is brought to the fore by Enlightenment Thought for a world that was desire to live more easily. However, capitalism finds itself the opportunity to flourish and it has been articulated by the understanding of the reason of Enlightenment Thought to conception of modernism. This situation reveals today's modern world. Alain De Botton thinks this modern world is supported by meritocracy. The framework of our study was to determine the books of Alain De Botton. In our study, the understanding of criticism of modernism was investigated as a solution-oriented. The traditional methods are revealed by Alain De Botton and we pay attention to the understanding of this method. One of the most important results of our study, the life of human is shaped by status anxiety. In conclusion, we are trying to remind, people had methods to overcome the modern world centuries ago. These methods are moved to the present day by the thought of Alain De Botton and his ideas provide to finding solutions for the problems of today's world.
