Statistical differences between Turkish and german women?s perception of menopause, views on menopause, their menopausal symptoms and Turkish and german womens cultures

This study was carried out in design of descriptive and determined the statistical differences between Turkish and German women?s perception of menopause, views on menopause, their menopausal symptoms and Turkish and German women?s cultures.The study was carried Study used Socio-Demographic Data Descriptive Survey Form, Related the Perception of Menopause Views Form and Menopause Rating Scale (MRS).In this study, the mean age of menopause for Turkish women was 47 ± 4.22 and for German women was 47 ± 5.58. Statistically significant differences were found women's menopause age, menopause duration and type of menopause (p<0.05). 67.5 % of Turkish women and 72.5% of German women perceived menopause positively. There was no statistically difference between German and Turkish women's perception of menopause (p>0.05). There were significant differences between Turkish and German women?s somatic (p<0.05), psychological (p<0.05), ürogenital (p<0.05).More than half of Turkish and German women have positive perceptions about menopause. Turkish women have positive perceptions because of the view ``Gaining community respectability??, ``Being more respected in society and family??, ``Losing the risk of becoming pregnant?? and ``Being able top pray without delay??, these views were different in German women.As the age of Turkish women increases, urogenital symptoms increases and as the age of German women increases, somatic, psychological and total symptoms increases. With decreased menopause age of Turkish women, the total symptoms increases and with decreased menopause age of German women, the somatic symptoms increases.Key Words: German Women, Menopause, Menopause Rating Scale, Menopause Symptoms, Menopause Perception, Transcultural Nursing, Turkish Women
