Albert Camus?s philosophy of the absurd

The objective of this descriptive study is to explain the philosophy of Albert Camus within the context of the concept of absurd and to compare A. Camus with other philosophers, especially with the existentialist philosophers, who reflected on the concepts he used and the topics he touched upon.In line with this objective, in the second section of this study, the meaning ascribed to absurd by Albert Camus and the causes of emergence of absurd are examined, and in the third section, the alternatives he addressed against absurd are explained and the opinions of other philosophers related to these issues are referred. In the fourth section, insurrection as the main solution proposed by A. Camus against absurd is discussed in detail and at the end of the section, the criticisms directed against A. Camus are explained. The conclusion section of the study includes the opinions and the appraisal of the researcher related to the topic.
