Low-pressure die casting is becoming more common day by day due to low mold cost and ease of production. In this study, low-pressure die casting cooling systems were investigated. The types and uses of mold cooling systems were detailed. Generally, air is used as a coolant in low pressure die casting. Air cooling is used to provide directional solidification to prevent casting defects in the casting. The test setup was designed and prepared for the project. This project is conducted as numbered of 3180665 TEYDEB project and supported by TÜBİTAK in Turkey. The rapid cooling of the molds of produced by the low-pressure die casting is important for both the material internal structure and the production time. Hence, the product molds are cooled impinging jets. Different types of cooling systems were tested in the test environment. Nusselt number and heat transfer coefficients (h) were calculated from a single nozzle which is designed Ø4 mm diameter and 6 mm distance to the surface.
