Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to demonstrate the design of bare and insulated aluminum conductors and the application of insulated aluminum conductors in low voltage overhead power distribution lines. The research was prepared by taking the branch b of the distribution transformer located in Büyüköz neighborhood of Ahırlı district of Konya province as reference. The current status of the referenced transformer branch is shown and the designs of bare and insulated aluminum conductors on the existing line are made. The power density method is used in the design. At the same time, comparative economic, technical and safety analyzes of these conductors are given. As a result, although it is seen that bare aluminum conductors have more disadvantages than insulated aluminum conductors, bare and insulated aluminum conductors have been evaluated in all their aspects. This study will have an important place in the correct direction of the large investment budgets allocated for electricity distribution facilities.
