Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between humility and people's religious perceptions and experiences, whether the degree of religiousness is a factor affecting the attitude of humility, and what effect the modern-secular lifestyle has on humility. Interviews were conducted with 20 people who were reached through purposeful and chain sampling, using the in-depth interview technique. The sample group consists of 20 teachers from different branches and affiliated with the religion of Islam, working in secondary education institutions under the Ministry of National Education. The data obtained from the interviews conducted using the semi-structured interview form were interpreted using content analysis and descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that religious beliefs and religious contents such as love of God, fear of God, and being created are the main sources of humility and elements that support humility, and disbelief does not prevent being modest but makes it difficult, and people who are considered to be religious are expected to be more modest. It was noted that in the modern-secular period that the determining effect of institutional religions and beliefs was significantly reduced, humility was pushed to the background and this weakening would continue in the future, and there would be a return to humility and other human values due to the good nature of the human being.
