Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, French writer Alexandre Dumas Fils's novel The Woman with Camellias and Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata opera were analyzed and analyzed in terms of subject, character and dramaturgy. In this study, the creative processes and artistic personalities of the authors and composers of both works were examined by including them in the research, and at the same time, the innovations they brought to the literature and opera arts, as they were the representatives of the Romanticism and Realism movement, were also discussed in the study. Novel-opera adaptations, which are frequently seen in the history of opera, especially in the works of Giuseppe Verdi, were limited to the works of The Camellias Woman-La Traviata in the thesis and included in the thesis. In this thesis, the novel adaptations, which are frequently encountered in the context of Giuseppe Verdi's operas, are examined through La Traviata - The Woman with the Camellias, as well as the similarities and differences of the adaptation.
