Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to realize a wound dressing material synthesis which enables the air circulation on the wound surface and the wound to remain moist, ensure healthy healing of the wound without allowing bacterial contamination on the wound. In addition, this wound covering material has been activated with factors that will enable cellular renewal and tissue repair in the wound area. The most important advantages of this biomaterial are those it is synthesized by nontoxic materials, it is a biodegradable substance, and it contains vitamin E which can be used for tissue repair and cellular renewal. Furthermore, this hydrogel will be able to be preferred within modern wound dressing alternatives by means of its affordable production process and reliability in terms of health. For this purpose, a copolymer was synthesized from chitosan and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) polymers as a result of a chemical reaction at which N,N'-methylene-(bis)acrylamide (MBA) was used as crosslinker and ammonium persulfate (APS) was used as initiator-catalyst. Characteristic features of the synthesized hydrogel were determined by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), surface area measurement (Brunauer, Emmet and Teller BET), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analyses. By loading vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) into this hydrogel, an effective wound dressing was created. As a result of in vitro treatment of fibroblast cells with this biomaterial, cell adhesion and proliferation were observed. Cell viability assay was performed with 3-[4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl]-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) method. By this way, it was detected that if this synthesized wound dressing is applied to any wound, it will provide an increase in fibroblast cells, which play an important role in healing in the wound area, and heal the wound quickly and successfully.
