The effects of perceived servant leadership on presenteeism: The case of Phrygia region

Due to the fact hotel businesses possess a labor-intensive nature, the human factor remains at the forefront. Therefore, determining the factors that affect employees' performance and productivity negatively and reducing them through their successful management is important in terms of gaining an advantage against the competitors among hotel companies operating in a highly competitive environment. The purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of servant leadership behaviors on presenteeism levels of employees working in five-star hotels operating in the Phrygian region. In the field research quantitative method was used and data were collected by questionnaire technique. While carrying out the data analysis, frequency, percent, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis H, Correlation and Regression analyzes were used. According to the results of the research, it was detected that servant leadership behaviors affected presenteeism levels of employees negatively. The servant leadership strengthens the sub-dimension, and has a negative relationship with Presenteeism at the highest level of influence. Also, it was concluded within the scope of the study sample that employees' perceptions of leadership and presentism levels were significantly different by some demographic variables.
