The effect of perceived organizational politics and positive psychological capital on job satisfaction, intention to leave and organizational silence: The sample of Afyonkarahisar province

This research focused on the effect of perceived organizational politics on job satisfaction, intention to leave and organizational silence, and the mediating effect of employees' positive psychological capital with the above mentioned effect. A survey was carried out to collect data with convenience sampling method which was applied in Afyonkarahisar province to 660 employees from both the state and private sector. The demographic variables in survey results were first interpreted through independent sample t-test and ANOVA; later they were interpreted through structural equation modeling with using SPSS 25 and AMOS 25. As a result of structural equation modeling, it was found out that while perceived organizational politics were seem to have negative effects on positive psychological capital, job satisfaction and organizational silence, they were seem to have positive effects on intention to leave. Then, while positive psychological capital was found to have negative effects on organizational silence and intention to leave, it was discovered to have positive effects on job satisfaction. Besides, within the scope of the study, the effects of perceived organizational politics' sub-dimensions, like general political behavior, going along to get ahead, pay and promotion policies; on positive psychological capital, and its sub-dimensions, like self-efficacy, hope, optimism and resiliency; on organizational silence and its sub-dimensions, like acquiescent silence, defensive silence, pro-social silence, and on job satisfaction and intention to leave were studied and the results about sub-dimensions were interpreted. Moreover, the partial mediating effect of positive psychological capital and its sub-dimensions were observed on the effects of perceived organizational politics on job satisfaction, intention to leave and organizational silence.
