Abstract (EN)

Ali Shariati, a Muslim thinker who was brought up by Iran towards the end of the 20th century, is an important writer, intellectual and sociologist who has written works on particularly contemporary Islamic thought and western civilizations, and left an indelible impression on eastern societies with his thoughts beyond his time. In this study, how Shariati interprets the West and Western thoughts is discussed, and Shariati's thought system is analyzed by focusing on his views on the West. The aim of the study is to intellectualise his criticisms of the west and western ideas with the mentality of Shariati. Shariati, whose thoughts and views are based on the understanding of Islamic tawhid, Islamic culture and civilization with his thoughts and behaviours. In our study, in order to get to know Shariati closely, in the first part, his life, struggle and works were tried to be explained. In the second part, what the basis of thought is based on and the aspects that precisive him from other thinkers are mentioned. In the last part, the effects of the western and western thought system in Islamic societies, which is our main subject, are explained within the framework of the thought of Sharia.
