Abstract (EN)

This paper explores Turkish image in German media in the context of EU-Turkey relations and spesifically surveys this in the example of EU Meeting in 17th December,2004 in which negatiation process began.This paper prepared through examinations of two high circulation rated national newspapers namely, liberal-left predisposed ?Süddeutsche Zeitung? and liberal-right predisposed ?Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung?, which were issued throughout a month in which meeting was prepared, to discover ?Turkish? and ?Turkey? images with historical roots and up to date social and economic backgrounds.This paper represents that German media can?t broadcast with the exception of historically cumulated negative Turkish and Turkey images and the dominant conception between society and produces unilateral and negatory images becase of this relationships.Key Words:1.German Press2.Turkish Image3.Turkish Image in German Press4.Turkish ?
