Relation of nature and freedom in German idealism

The problem of free will against natural determinism and fatalism is one of the most important issues in the whole history of philosophy. It seems like there is a natural determinism, which determines the laws of nature. Human-being exists in the nature like all the other beings and assuming all the nature is bonded with deterministic laws causes a contradiction with existence of human freedom. If there is no action in the nature without a reason, there could be no human action without a reason. Reasoning all the actions of human being releases him from his responsibilities. Freeing human being from all of his responsibilities is contradictory with any possible moral theory. Because freedom is the essential concept of morality. No act may be considered evil or good, without assuming human being is free. That is the reason, why freedom is a problematical area in history of philosophy. Problem of freedom is older than problem of evil and it may be the core of all ontological problems. The metaphysical approach of German idealists has an important place in the history of philosophy. With evaluating civilisation, problem of freedom developed and became more complex in each era passed through the history. The Enlightenment's paradigm of science altered the whole idea about the concept of being and nature. Descartes and the following philosophers had a different task to solve the issue about the contradiction between mechanism and freedom. This alteration made the problem of freedom more complicated. The metaphysical system of German idealists draw a more concrete frame around the issue. In this study, the methodical and metaphysical approach of German idealists on the free will and nature correlation will be explained.
