Abstract (EN)
The New Eastern Policy, between the years 1969-1974 can be defined in general as an initiative aimed to improve relations with the member states of Eastern Bloc. Within the framework of this policy, which has opened a new page in terms of relations with the states behind the iron curtain, Federal Repulic of Germany had intended to get rid of self-limiting chains, consolidate its position in the international arena and aimed to correct the underlying problems caused by the existence of the East German state. In this context the basic problem of this thesis, which is a political history and foreign policy study, has been to try to determine the main parameteres of this policy thas was implemented in the period of Willy Brandt.
