Abstract (EN)

In the study which examines the selection of the suitable location for the shopping centers, the availability of the area, its proximity to the centers of interest, topological structure were investigated within the scope of the survey study applied to the customers using different shopping centers in the vicinity. This system, which aims at obtaining, editing, questioning and analyzing the necessary data using GIS in the work done, helps to speed up the planned work, to obtain reliable information, to produce alternatives. The objective of this study is to determine the most appropriate location for the new modern shopping centers by examining the characteristics of the shopping centers established up to now in Üsküdar province by means of spatial analysis using GIS as a tool. The selected method was used AHP within the scope of MCDA. Pairwise comparison method was used in determining the relative weights of the determined criteria. After the layers were formed, a synthesis map was created by normalizing them. The appropriateness of the five alternative sites for the shopping centers to be established according to the obtained value averages of the determined appropriate areas in the generated synthetic map is ranked from highest to lowest.
