Investigation of the level of response to botulinum-a toxin injection treatment in patients with lower urinary system dysfunction

INVESTIGATION OF THE LEVEL OF RESPONSE TO BOTULINUM-A TOXIN INJECTION TREATMENT IN PATIENTS WITH LOWER URINARY SYSTEM DYSFUNCTION SUMMARY Dysfunctional voiding is one of the most frequently seen clinical entities in pediatric urology practice. Although the precise pathophysiology of dysfunctional voiding is not clear, uninhibited bladder contractions, pelvic floor overactivity and poorly learned voiding are the main preceding factors. When evaluating the patients with dysfunctional voiding, detailed history, physical examination, voiding diary, VDSS, Uroflowmetry-EMG, urine analysis, lumbosacral AP/L graphy, ultrasonography, postvoid residuel urine volume measurements were used. Bladder elastography is a recent diagnostic and follow-up tool that has been shown to provide valuable insights into bladder compliance. Urotherapy, biofeedback, pharmacotherapy, surgery modalities are generally used for the treatment. Intravesical Botulinum Toxin-A (BTA) injection is one of the treatment modalities.
