Abstract (EN)

Parallel to the growth of cities their needs have also increased. The primary needs of the cities are water, communication, transportation and energy. Therefore, decisions has to be made concerning networks, in which must be quick, practical and efficient. In order to overcome these problems Infrastructure Information Systems(IIS) are developed and used. The application areas of IIS are: drinking water, waste water, and rain water collection and distribution. In this study; three cities (Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa) IIS are evaluated and the stages of the development of an IIS for Adana ASKI, Turkey are presented. Methods used, problems encountered, the installation and the expected benefits from the use of IIS in Adana ASKI are discussed. Also installation and development of IIS in selected cities are evaluated for cost, design, data acquisition, and problems encountered during updates and efficient use of the systems. Despite of all of these problems, local authorities that are using IIS are increasing in numbers. The development of ISS for ASKİ, Adana including 36 districts covering 2094.53 ha of area which was located in the south of the city. Methods of obtaining the coordinate and attribute data for the network components of drinking water, waste water and rain water in the study area and the relationship between the systems are developed. Necessary information such as: address identification of the households, district name, road name, and door numbers for each client and other associated data for drinking water information system have been collected and entered into the database. As a result of evaluation of the installation and use of Infrastructure Information Systems for different cities in Turkey: IIS which is essential for healthy and sustainable urban development and it provides efficient data management and lower cost, for infrastructure facility organization and development.
