Comparative semantics of basic words in Altaic languages

Turkish, Mongolian, Manchu-Tunguz, Korean, and Japanese languages come from a single origin and they are classified as Altaic languages. However, those who reject this classification claim that there is a phonological or morphological discrepancy of the most basic words. Therefore, the relevant languages were examined, based on Morris Swadesh's list of basic words, which is accepted by linguists. In this thesis, the basic words and phonetic similarities were identified and semantic parallels of the words were examined. The aim of this study is to compare the basic words and derivatives of these words in Turkish, Mongolian, Manchu-Tunguz, Korea, and Japanese, to reveal similarities and/or differences from a semantic point of view, to determine partnerships in terms of meaning in the tendencies of languages to produce words, to explore the origin of the origins of the specified languages through these methods.
