Özet (EN)

In recent years the development of power electronic components has increased efforts for the development of power electronics systems. One of the most important of these studies has been the multi-level inverter topology. Among high-power applications, and alternative energy systems, especially in terms of performance of multi-level inverter circuits are preferred. According to other classical inverters, the most important distinctive features are less distortion in output voltage and operating at low frequency switching and highly efficient performance. As multilevel inverter topologies are developing so are the pulse width modulation techniques. Space Vector PWM technique is most often investigated in recent years. Because the space vector pulse width modulation technique has been advantageously used with microprocessors. In this thesis, cascaded multilevel inverter with isolated DC sources are studied. First, a general knowledge about inverters and multi-level inverter is given. Then, traditional multi-level inverter topologies are described and pulse width modulation techniques are explained. SVPWM technique is described in detail. Finally, SVPWM controlled three-level cascade multilevel inverter?s MATLAB / Simulink model is examined and the results are given. The main aim of this thesis is to see the advantages of multi-level inverter used in alternative energy systems due to the classic two-level inverters. Multi-level Inverters? minimum level is three, so a three-level inverter is studied.
