Abstract (EN)
This research is aimed at identifying competencies of the pre-service science teachers on the alternative measurement and assessment techniques. The data in respect of pre-service science teacher?s view of alternative measurement and assessment, competencies of preparing these techniques and perception for preparing these techniques were collected from 66 pre-service science teachers at the department of science teaching at Sakarya University. The Scale ?Perception of Competencies on the Alternative Measurement and Assessment Techniques? which developed by researcher, documents which prepared by pre-service science teachers and open ended question form were used for data collection. The percentage frequency calculation method was used in the quantitative data analysis, and the content analysis was used for the qualitative analysis.According to the research, it is observed that the pre-service science teachers, who took measurement and assessment course, perceived themselves sufficient on preparing the measurement and assessment techniques but according to the documents which prepared by pre-service science teachers it is observed that the pre-service science teachers are not sufficient enough for some techniques. And also it is observed that the pre-service science teachers knew how to prepare the alternative measurement and assessment techniques but didn?t know how to practice them accurately.
